The Afghanistan Network Operators Group (AFNOG) is a dynamic community of dedicated network professionals who aim to enhance the technical expertise and connectivity within Afghanistan's network infrastructure. AFNOG aims to establish itself as a key platform for local and diaspora network engineers to collaborate, exchange knowledge, and address pertinent issues related to networking and the Internet.

AFNOG's mission is to empower Afghan network professionals and advance Afghanistan's Internet landscape by fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and digital empowerment within the network infrastructure community.

Connecting Afghan Network Professionals

AFNOG brings together network professionals residing within Afghanistan and in the diaspora. We facilitate meaningful connections and collaborations to strengthen the technical workforce.

Facilitating Information Flow

AFNOG addresses the challenge of isolation by keeping local professionals informed about global developments in networking and technology. Simultaneously, we share insights about events and opportunities to engage the diaspora and explore avenues for support.

Active Participation

We actively promote Afghan participation in local, regional, and global initiatives and programs related to networking and Internet governance. Our aim is to empower Afghan professionals to take on roles such as members of working groups, committee members, and community trainers on the international stage.

Tackling Local Internet Issues

AFNOG engages in discussions and initiatives to address local Internet-related issues. These include deliberations on issues such as Resource Public Key Infrastructure (RPKI), IPv6 adoption, Internet Exchange Points (IX), and support for various community-led Internet Governance Forum (IGF) initiatives like IGF Afghanistan (IGFA), Youth IGF Afghanistan (YouthIGFA), and Afghanistan School on Internet Governance (AFSIG).
